چکیده
Abstract In this paper, a finite element (FE) analysis is carried out on beam to column welded connections with multiple hexagonal web openings. The openings are distributed along the length of which subjected cyclic loading protocol proposed by SAC and FEMA 350 (2000). This study focuses interaction from columns perforated mobilization stresses. Two parameters were addressed: distance face (S), opening spacing (So) including closely spaced opening. revealed that design mostly controlled reduced section (RWS) should be fundamentally based first column. Three values (S) presented (200 mm, 350mm, 520 mm). A model an ideal mm has resulted in ultimate rotation 0.039649 rad, less than other models, rotations 0.049386 rad 0.050000 respectively.

OPTIMIZATION OF OPENING SIZE FOR CASTELLATED BEAM WITH SINUSOIDAL OPENINGS
Castellated beams are generally provided with hexagonal and circular openings in the web portion. However, in view of structural applications, appropriate size and shape of openings in web are always a major issue of concern. Research work carried out in optimizing sizes of castellated beam with hexagonal openings have reported that castellated beams fail mainly by local failure modes and stres...
متن کاملFinite element analysis of a rigid beam to column connection reinforced with channels
Abstract: This research work presents a new rigid connection constructed with channels. In order to assess its hysteresis behavior, three specimens with different cover plates and six specimens with different panel zone thickness have been considered. The energy absorbed by the connection and the behavior of the panel zone were studied during cyclic loading and compared with those of connectio...
متن کاملAnalytical and Experimental Investigation of I Beam-to-CFT Column Connections under Monotonic Loading (RESEARCH NOTE)
In this study, the behavior characteristics of I beam-to-concrete filled tube (CFT) column connection is studied through experiment and finite element models under the monotonic loading. To validate the finite element modeling, at first, an experimental model is made and experimented. After validation of the finite element modeling, different models were created in the software. The studied par...
متن کاملNumerical Analysis of Cyclic Behavior of Beam-To-Column Bolted Connections in Steel Frames
This article considers the seismic behavior of beam-to-column joints in steel frames for different bolt arrangements by using of finite element modeling. As the most important beam-to-column joint type, the beam-to-column joints with end-plate is chosen for the analysis. Four different specimens have been analyzed. These models had some differences such as bolt arrangement and the presence or a...
متن کاملPerformance of the Modified Precast Beam to Column Connection Placed on a Concrete Corbel
Precast concrete structures in Iran are generally designed as continuous columns with hinged beams, thereby making them simple frames. In this system in site show walls in two directions of buildings guaranteed lateral resisting system. However, in order to obtain a seismic resisting frame, the connection between beam and column should be moment resisting and ductile, allowing the formation of ...
